5 tips for sterilizing flat mops

Long term use of flat mops can easily breed bacteria, produce odors, and even affect the effectiveness of floor cleaning. Teach you 5 simple and effective sterilization methods to make mops clean and hygienic!

1. Soak in white vinegar and baking soda
Method: Add 1 cup of white vinegar and 2 spoons of baking soda to warm water, soak the mop for 20 minutes, and then clean it normally.
Function: White vinegar sterilizes, baking soda removes dirt and odors, suitable for daily cleaning.

2. 84 disinfectant diluted and soaked
Method: Soak 1 bottle cap of 84 disinfectant and 1 liter of water in a mop for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Attention: Only suitable for white or float resistant mops, to avoid fading of colored mops!

3. Boiling water for sterilization (suitable for detachable mop)
Method: After boiling the water, put it in a mop and cook for 5-10 minutes, then let it dry.
Applicable: Cotton or microfiber mop, capable of killing most bacteria and mites at high temperatures.

4. Sunlight exposure+ventilation drying
Method: After each cleaning, expose the mop to sunlight for 2 hours for natural UV sterilization.
Key: Do not store mops wet, otherwise they are prone to mold!

5. Alcohol spray rapid disinfection
Method: Spray 75% alcohol onto the mop, let it sit for 5 minutes before use, suitable for emergency disinfection.
Advantages: Quick acting sterilization, suitable for treating pet areas and kitchen oil stains.

Daily maintenance tips
Clean it promptly after each use to avoid the accumulation of dirt.
Regularly replace the mop (it is recommended to replace it every 2-3 months).
The mop head should be kept dry and can be hung with a mop rack to dry.
